C40 and the World Resource Institute
The session intends to highlight the crucial role of national urban policy and private sector investment in accelerating better urban growth through showcasing some of the initial findings on national urban policy, urban finance, and economics from the Coalition for Urban Transitions. This is a major new international initiative, launched in May 2016, to support national decision makers to unlock the power of cities. This will highlight emerging findings of work on the returns to real estate and infrastructure investors, the net benefits of new fast moving urban mobility solutions such as e-hailing and car sharing, and new work on the policy and finance levers heads of state, finance Ministers, and urban development & transport Ministers have at their disposal to shape and finance future urban transitions. The Coalition is managed by the World Resources Institute (WRI) Ross Center for Sustainable Cities and C40.
